Getting to the Dählhölzli-Zoo

Bus line 19 from the main station (near the Bern linen weavers) to the ‘Tierpark’ stop, then turn right into Thormannstrasse. At the edge of the woods, after the three owls, you will find the first orientation map.

The claim "More space for fewer animals" for the benefit of animals expands into diverse spaces for people, animals and nature.

Dählhölzli

With over 200 species of animals in well-structured, spacious enclosures, our animals are worthy ambassadors of their species and help to fascinate people on multiple sensory levels and raise their awareness of nature. The zoo is open 365 days a year and offers space for leopards, snakes, wolves, monkeys, but also native animals between the enclosures, as well as for people's needs: thrilling experiences, unique encounters, recreation and enjoyment.

BearPark

Located at the foot of Bern's Old Town, the BearPark offers the opportunity to experience bears in an animal-friendly environment. The BearPark is home to the former inhabitants of the Bear Pit. The facility extends over an area of 6000 square metres down to the banks of the Aare.
